PHOTOGRAPHER, LONDON, UK
Amanda has spent her life observing the environments in which she finds herself, be that physically or cognitively. Through photography she forms her own understanding of the world, and hopes to reflect something back to the viewer. People are central to her work, whether appearing as themselves, or by being represented through their interactions with the world around them and the impact that may have. She has taught, written and spoken about photography, and is open to opportunities in this vein.
Her work has been exhibited extensively in the UK and internationally, as well as featuring in several publications, including Portrait of Britain. She was recently awarded a grant from Thamesmead Community Fund. Thanks to the grant Amanda is currently planning some local workshops. Participants will be guided around the area, learning about local history and architecture, whilst picking up skills in photography.
Eatwell uses writing as part of her practice, though mostly in the ideas & research phases. She writes a blog which comes out roughly once a month. To keep up with exhibitions and project news you can read or subscribe here.
